Clarinette (2010-2011) is the third piece in a series of monotimbral works. Like its siblings Piano and Cymbale, it was inspired by the sound qualities of an acoustic instrument. It is a minimalist and meditative piece. It is played on the sponge. The clarinet samples used in this piece were played by Krista Martynes.

Clarinette exists in three different versions: Clarinette, Clarinette (Struggling) and Clarinette (Albino Butterfly).

The latest version was recorded on November 3rd, 2011 at the Schullich School of Music, McGill University, Montreal.

This version (Struggling) was recorded at the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur in Montreal on Friday, 18 February 2011. Sadly, audio is from the camera microphone.
